Well done to all our Waverley AC Sportshall athletes last Sunday. Our usual support team of older athletes were there in strength to support the younger competitors: great to see. U15 boys won with u13 girls and u15 girls a close second. Thanks to our amazing team managers and officials helping out.

Waverley win silver at Surrey U11 Sportshall Champs
Great team effort at spectrum this Sunday, both Waverley boys and girls win silver. Everyone had an excellent experience and we will be back for Gold at match 2 in January 24

Race 2 Surrey Cross Country League Saturday 11th November 2023
Saturday saw the second round of the Surrey Cross Country League at Mitcham Common.
There were strong performances all round from the Waverley Athletes with Sienna I 5th in the U17 women and Ollie J 4th in U17 men
The U17 mens team took 6th place overall
Congratulations to Amber & Ollie J who have been selected by Surrey Schools for the intercounties match in Rugby on Saturday
Congratulations also go to Isabelle G and Ollie J who have been selected to represent Surrey at the intercounties match in Oxford on Dec 9th

WAC athletes at Surrey Sportshall Athletics
Waverley AC u15 boys dominated the Surrey Sportshall Athletics match at Spectrum, Guildford. Owen winning overall with Ryan and Will joint 3rd. 26 Waverley athletics competed in the match, with U15 boys first, u13 girls 3rd, u15 girls 4th and u13 boys 6th. Great team experience for everyone and looking forward to match 2 on Sunday 19th November

Osgood Schlatters Disease
Osgood Schlatters Disease What is it ? Osgood Schlatters disease is a term used to describe pain that is in a very localised area just below the patella ( knee cap) on the shin bone where the patella tendon inserts (the tibial tuberosity). The cause of Osgood Schlatters disease is not yet fully understood. It is most commonly seen in sporty adolescents between the ages of 9-15, more often in boys and 4 times more common in those athletes who have specialised early in 1 sport, but it can also occur in the non sporty population too.

Busy October Weekend for Waverley AC
A busy weekend with our juniors and seniors running well in the Surrey XC league, juniors at Richmond Park and the seniors at Epsom Downs yesterday. Today Zoe is at Carshalton on her weekend Athletics Coaching Course with England Athletics. Top 10 finishes for Ollie J and Isabelle G, well done everyone. Next weekend is the first Surrey Sportshall competition of the season.

Surrey AA Bruce Judd XC Relays
13 Waverley AC athletes represented the club at the Bruce Judd xc relays on Saturday. Racing 2.2km in teams of three around a sunny Stoke Park in Guildford. The u17 women were 8th, u17 men 7th, u13 girls 11th and u15 girls 10th. Ollie J ran well to finish 6th overall and Sienna finished 7th overall in her first race for Waverley AC.
Next Saturday its our first appearance in the Surrey XC league @ Richmond.

Hello Autumn
Autumn has arrived and with it a flurry of activity, kids back to school and the restarting of all their activities both in and out of school. For the vast majority of kids there will have been a period of rest away from sport, if not completely, then certainly a reduction in the quantity and consistency. The third week of September is the most common time for sporty kids to get injured.

Waverley AC end of season throws event - Kingston
Great weather for our final end of season throws event of 2024 and to be joined by our friends from Holland Sports, Crawley, Winchester and Southampton. Great PB’s in discus for Ryan and Elsa, with Julia smashing her shot PB too. Elsa won the the biggest % increase of PB for the day - well done Elsa, great end to the season. Thanks to all our officials for helping out today.

SEAA Road Relays Rushmoor Area Aldershot Saturday 24th September 2023
Saturday 23rd September 2023 saw the return of the SEAA road relays to the Rushmoor Arena at Aldershot with 3 teams entered from Waverley AC.
First up the U15 girls team Scarlet M, Heidi & Lila ran 3 x 3km to finish in 44th place
Next to run were the U17 men with Harry R, Noah and Ollie J each running 4.6km to also finish in 44th place
Last race of the day was the senior men and masters team of Jack B, Steve M, Giles J & Martin F over the longer 4 x 6 km course - a commendable effort in a field with some seriously fast runners !
