Wessex Young Athletes League Match 1 Andover

It was a cold and blustery day that saw the start of this year’s Waverley AC Wessex League campaign.  It was a great turnout with 53 seniour athletes and 13 quad kids making the trip to Andover.

And a very successful trip it was too with Waverley recording an overall match win in the senior event and our quad kids coming 4th overall.

Many thanks to all our athletes, parents, team managers and officials for making this happen.

Of particular note was Will F in the U15B discus, who achieved the entry standard for the ESAA (English Schools athletics) championships, which may see him compete for Surrey Schools in the national finals in Birmingham in July.  Well done Will!

Looking forward to Round 2 at Swindon on Sunday 9th June.
