UK U17 Indoor Championships at English Institute for Sport in Sheffield - 11th February 2024

Great to see Owen F compete at the UK U17 Indoor Championships in Sheffield. He was a bit disappointed with his result but such an amazing achievement just to qualify in his 1st year in this age category.

Final Match Surrey Cross Country League West Horsley Place Saturday 10th January 2024

Saturday saw the final match of the Surrey Cross Country League. The Juniors raced at West Horsley Place - perhaps better know as Button House from the TV series Ghosts. Thankfully no ghosts in sight but some fantastic performances from the Waverley Athletes. First to race was Isabelle G with sister Ciara in the U13 girls race, with Isabelle finishing in 2nd place. Next up was the U15/17 girls race. Scarlet M finished in 12th place in the U15 girls race with an amazing sprint finish

Congratulations to Ollie J who has been selected to run for Surrey Schools in the intermediate boys race at the upcoming ESAA Cross Country Competition in Pontefract in March.

Waverley AC Primary Schools XC

A great afternoons XC racing at Rodborough School yesterday with the Waverley AC Primary Schools XC event. 73 runners from 14 different schools battled it out in perfect conditions. Congratulations to the race winners: Freya, Lucas, Ellie, Josh, Ciara, Edward, Erin and George. A massive thanks to the Waverley AC athletes and parents who set up and ran this event so well, we could not have done it without you all.

South East England Schools Intercounties Cross Country Championships 3rd Feb 2024

Harry R representing Hampshire schools and Ollie J representing Surrey schools ran in the Intermediate boys race at Ardingly. It was a tough hilly course and out of a field of 84, despite running with an injury Harry finished a very commendable 58th and Ollie in 7th place. Hampshire finished in 1st place & Surrey finished close behind them in 2nd place. Sienna I ran in the Intermediate girls race to finish 42nd out of a field of 86 over an equally tough course, with Surrey finishing in 4th place overall.

To avoid any confusion, our second Waverley primary schools xc race is today at Rodborough school, Milford. 3-00 Year 4 girls 3-10 Year 4 Boys 3-20 Year 3 girls 3-30 Year 3 boys 3-40 Year 5 girls 3-50 Year 5 boys 4-00 Year 6 girls 4-10 Year 6 Boys No need to pre regsiter, just turn up and register on the day.

U15 Waverley AC athletes final club Sportshall win

After 6 years of club sportshall athletics, Waverley AC U15 boys and girls finish in style with 2 overall wins. Good luck in the upcoming sportshall team trials and then regional and hopefully national finals with Surrey. Well done guys, you have been amazing and we look forward to your summer track and field season ahead. Team Waverley.

Surrey & Hampshire Schools County Cross Country Championships Saturday 20th January 2024

Waverley AC had a great representation at both the Surrey Schools County XC Championships in Reigate and the Hampshire Schools County XC Championships in Aldershot on Saturday - well done to all who took part. Thankfully for the supporters and marshalls the weather had warmed up slightly ! Congratulations to Harry R at Aldershot and Isabelle, Sienna I and Ollie J at Reigate, who all had top 20 finishes and gaining places to represent Hampshire Schools & Surrey Schools respectively in the regional schools championships to be held in Ardingly on Feb 3rd

Surrey Cross Country League Match 3 Wimbledon 13th January 2024

Saturday morning proved a chilly experience for the spectators at match 3 of the Surrey XC league. Isabelle G had a top 10 finish in the U13 girls race with team mates Amber W and Ciara G running well. Sienna I had a top 20 finish in the U17 women with Lana R representing WAVAC for the first time. Scarlett M had a strong sprint finish in the U15 girls race

South of England Indoor Championships Success (January 2024)

Congratulations to Owen F who won a bronze medal in the Long Jump at the South of England U17 Indoor Championships at Lee Valley today, with a PB jump of 6.34m.
